Guduvanjeri, Ponneri Taluka- Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu

Guduvanjeri is a medium size village located in Ponneri Taluka of Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu with total 194 families residing. The Guduvanjeri village has population of 708 of which 330 are males while 378 are females as per Population Census, 2011.

Guduvanjeri village has lower literacy rate compared to Tamil Nadu. In 2011, literacy rate of Guduvanjeri village was 73.25 % compared to 80.09 % of Tamil Nadu. In Guduvanjeri Male literacy stands at 83.33 % while female literacy rate was 64.37 %.

The village population includes 80 SC and 3 ST. The total no. of workers is 371 out of which 49 work permanently while 322 are marginal workers.

The Tullu Vellars or Mudaliars, in relative terms, are the most prosperous denomination in the village. The illustrious Mudaliars in Nagpur, Nungambakkam and Gurgaon prefix their first name with Gudvanjeri to highlight their origins.
